Glorious Golf Vacations

For avid golfers, there are some excellent choices in holidays and vacations tailored to suit their favorite hobby. There is nothing so relaxing is taking a week or so to enjoy the greens in another location. Often this chance will allow golfers to experience the links not available to them every day. For golfers enjoy the sport as a hobby or are serious enthusiasts alike, a golf holiday is by far, the perfect gift. Here are some tips on making the most of your golf vacation:

The most important decision to make is what golf course you choose. There are many factors to this decision. Will you be travelling with family? If so, then you want to make sure you choose a locale that offers something for everyone. Some golf resorts offer play areas for kids, and many resorts are located near enough to other attractions and shopping that no one in the family will have a dull moment. Also, consider if you are interested in only golf holidays in your country or if you are interested in travelling internationally. There are many great golf courses all over the world that could offer a dream vacation if you do not mind travelling overseas. To choose the right course, start with a list of courses that caught your interest and research each one, removing ones that do not fit the bill or do not offer enough extras. Make sure to look at packages and prices.

Consider going in the off season. If you choose to go on a golf holiday in the peak seasons, you will be paying a higher price and the course will of course have more people playing. If you do not mind going on holiday during an off season, then you get some fantastic deals on a fun and much more private trip.

Decide what equipment to bring is a must. It would, of course, be better to rent golf clubs once you have arrived at your destination, especially if you are flying. However, if you feel you really need to carry your own clubs, make sure to consult airline rules and regulations for baggage and be ready to pay extra to bring the equipment along.

With a little preplanning and forethought, a golf holiday can be a fun and relaxing experience for the hobbyist and avid player alike. There are lots of choices of locales out there, so make sure to do thorough research before picking your destination.

Golfing In Scotland

My husband and I enjoy the sport of golf and decided to look into golf vacations in Scotland. After all, Scotland is the birth place of golf. We were excited in researching the many golf courses to play on in Scotland. We had been told by friends that there is nothing like Scotland golf.

The areas of Ayrshire and West Scotland gave us a chance to experience the culture on the islands. The area is filled with many historic castles, parks and World Heritage Sites. Not to mention over forty golf courses to choose from. Many choose this area for golf vacationsbecause of the spectacular scenery and the vast variety of golf courses. We were surprised to learn that many of the golf courses offered a wide variety of challenging links to improve our skills on.

The first golf course that we played on was the Kilmarnock Barassie. This golf course was first founded in 1887 and still uses nine of the original holes. The golf course is home to some of the most challenging links on the coast of Ayrishire. My husband and I really enjoyed playing on this championship course and spent the whole morning there.

The Machrie is one of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever played on. When planing our golf vacations, I made sure that our golf packages included this amazing course. The course is located on the island of Islay. Machrie is one of the oldest courses in Scotland. It is also one of the most traditional courses to play. This became one of the highlights of our golf trips in Ayrshire and West Scotland.

When we first started to plan golf trips in Scotland, we did many hours of research because of the vast variety of golf courses in the area. It was hard to just choose a few on our first trip. Over the years we have had planned many golf vacations just to have the Scotland golf experience again. The golf trips have always been fun and relaxing. We have also found many golf packages that include some top notch golf courses to play on in Scotland. This in turn, has gotten many of our friends to join us on golf vacations around Scotland. The golf vacations in Scotland have become one of the top travel destinations for me and my husband. Scotland is the perfect place for golf travel.
